BANKNOTE: 5 ZENS

Soren Watari designed ZOZO CITY’s schools to give every child an equal chance to memorize whatever had been chosen for them to know. Questions were replaced with answers that were easier to grade.

His method combined memory, science, and transmission: remember without arguing, follow the textbook, and repeat without distortion. Culture became a summary, then a quote, then a hallway slogan.

The city produced generations of graduates who could run the system without asking why. The 5 Zens note reminds everyone that education is priceless; it merely has an admission fee.
